3d PDF Examples
The ability to embed 3D models into a PDF has been around for quite some time. Adobe originally created "Acrobat 3D" but later discontinued it. Tetra 4D has now replaced Acrobat 3D and allows you to create 3D PDF's. In addition to the ability to embed the 3D Model, the user also has the ability to turn layers on and off, rotate the model, choose preselected views, and play animations all within the free Adobe Reader.
Here are two examples of 3D PDF's that I have created:
